Fenella elms biography examples
I decided to look at artist Fenella Elms, as when browsing artists related to the theme of the ocean, her work caught my eye as something quite unique, and definitely something I wanted to explore. I loved the way in which her work flows, and somehow captures an element of energy and movement, which I think is what caused me to relate her work to the ocean and marine life, in particular, corals.

I also identified that the simplicity of her work allowed her to focus on creating fluid shapes and lines, rather than over-complicating it and not capturing the refined patterns that she had aimed for. I created some initial drawings based on her work, focusing on the line work and how her work could be translated into a surface pattern.
The results were interesting, and I think that looking back on this process, some of the samples definitely had potential to be developed into some quite interesting patterns. Based on these initial drawings, I created some paper-cut samples. Share this: Twitter Facebook Like Loading Related Leave a comment Cancel reply.
